The European Convention on Human Rights and Policing: a handbook for law enforcement officials

Handbook entitled "The European Convention on Human Rights and Policing" by Jim Murdoch and Ralph Roche has recently been translated into Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian language and will soon be distributed to prison and police professionals across BiH jurisdictions.

The aim of the handbook is to uphold the human rights of persons deprived of liberty by preventing and/or fighting misconduct or impunity.

The European Convention on Human Rights and Policing provides for a detailed framework regulating the operational work of law enforcement agencies.

The translation of the handbook and its subsequent delivery was organised within the framework of the EU/CoE Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey action "Enhancing human rights protection for detained and sentenced persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina".

For additional information about the handbook, please contact the Prison reform programme team.
