Workshops with students of High School and Building College, Mstislav

COMUS Workshops  were  organized by Mstislav Project Manager, in cooperation with local teachers and with the participation of the Project Officer and the Local Expert, aiming at identifying a vision of local young people on heritage and its role for the city’s development.

This Workshops had interactive character. Students identified and discussed the town problems and activities which could revitalize the social, economic and cultural situation in Mstislav and make their town more interesting and comfortable for young people. Students were divided into three groups who have been actively in the creative process of  making posters, which might illustrate the view of  Mstislav  through the next 25 years.

During the debates, young people raised a number of important issues, from their point of view, for the town’s development.  More specifically, they paid special attention to the lack of attractive public places for the youth in Mstislav,  especially in the historic part of the town. The whole life of the local youth mainly takes place in the new part of the town - in a residential neighborhood.

Aware of the role of tourism as a factor for  stimulating the town’s development,  children expressed that local authority and residents should first think about the implementation of favorable conditions for citizens, taking into account their needs and expectations. In the words of one of the participants "Tourists like to come to the city where people live happily. Everything should be done to ensure that our residents feel happy. "
