Project of the Primary school “Vladimir Nazor”
All Together
Specific project’s objectives:
- To educate and qualify teachers for work with children with special needs
- To educate and qualify psychologist in the area of testing pupils before enrolment and monitoring during their education
- To inform and educate pupils, parents and local community on inclusion and prepared continuous workshops
- To inform wider local community about the project
- To design creative contents and equippe interactive room for socializing, workshops and education
Project’s main activities:
Raising awareness of parents, pupils and local community
- Informing the local community by speaking at the local radio station;
- Making a brochure on inclusion and the project (300 copies for the parents and local community);
- Workshops with pupils and parents about inclusion, diversity and special educational needs (28 pupils – Pupils Council and 28 parents – Parents council);
- Presentation on inclusion, for the local community, in the city library (30 participants);
- Presentation about the inclusion to nearby schools:
- - Primary school "Ivo Dugandžić-Mišić" Komin,
- - Primary school "Gradac",
- - Primary school “fra Ante Gnječa Staševica”
- Facebook page about the project and activities,
- Making a documentary film about a boy who is a good example of an inclusive practice at our school
Capacity building:
- Study visits of three teachers for work with children with special educational needs
- - Visit to Education Centre “Goljak” in Zagreb;
- - Visit to Inclusion support centre IDEM in Zagreb;
- - Visit to Centre for Autism in Split ;
- - These teachers will present new adopted practices and share experience with Teachers’ Council, consisting of 30 teachers
- - Supervision by two experts from the the visited centres “Goljak” and Inclusion support centre IDEM, will be conducted
- Educating 20 teachers for work with a smart interactive board
- Educating and qualifying psychologist
- - A psychologist will be educated for testing and diagnostics pupils with special needs, pupils with difficulties, gifted pupils, as well as for their monitoring during education;
- - Wist test for diagnostic will be purchased
- - A psychologist will test pupils in three schools and apply gained knowledge. Testing is for establishing special educational needs and school enrolment: Primary school "Ivo Dugandžić-Mišić" Komin, Primary school “Fra Ante Gnječa Staševica” and Primary school “Vladimir Nazor”, Ploče)
Adapting and equipping an interactive room:
- Adapting an existing room
- Providing interactive smart board, didactic games relaxation corner
Developing creative contents: to contribute to better socialization and inclusion through socializing, workshops and education
Project’s target groups
- Direct beneficiaries: 3 teachers educated during study visits, all other teachers with whom they shared experience, teachers educated for work with a Smart interactive board, a psychologist educated for testing and diagnostics of pupils with special needs
- Indirect beneficiaries: participants of the workshops and presentations – teachers and pupils, informed school staff from three nearby schools about the project - Primary school "Ivo Dugandžić-Mišić" Komin, Primary school "Gradac", Gradac and Primary school “fra Ante Gnječa Staševica”, sensibilised local community (presentation in the city library), local community informed through brochures, Facebook pages and local radio station
