A Council of Europe Human Rights Educational for Legal Professionals (HELP) course on combating domestic violence was launched for Azerbaijani police officers in an adapted version.
This comprehensive course aims to equip law enforcement personnel with the critical knowledge and skills necessary to effectively address domestic violence cases. It consists of three key modules that explore the various forms and impacts of violence, emphasize victim-centered responses, and provide essential investigative techniques.
The importance of empowering women police officers was highlighted, as police officers can play a pivotal role in both preventing and addressing domestic violence cases.
This event is part of the European Union and Council of Europe joint programme “Partnership for Good Governance”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in the framework of the project “Preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence in Azerbaijan.”
