On 12–13 February 2026, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) in cooperation with the Mediation Council and the Academy of Justice of Azerbaijan organised a workshop entitled “Improving the professional skills of mediators”.
The workshop brought together 35 mediators from Baku and various regions of the country. It focused on strengthening practical skills in mediation, including effective communication techniques, management of the mediation process, and addressing challenges encountered in family and labour disputes.
The activity combined theoretical input with interactive discussions, role plays and hands-on practical exercises aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of mediation practice. Participants were also introduced to relevant CEPEJ mediation tools.
This event is part of the European Union and the Council of Europe joint programme “Partnership for Good Governance”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in the framework of the Project on “Fostering mediation in Azerbaijan”.
