A meeting of the Working Group on the development and use of uniform annual court performance reports was held on 18 March 2026, bringing together representatives of the judiciary, the Agency for Digitalisation of Justice and Administration of the Judiciary, and the National Institute of Justice.
Mr Jaša VRABEC, Head of the Court Management Development Office at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia and Chair of the CEPEJ Working Group on the Evaluation of Judicial Systems, presented his opinion on the draft Guide on annual court performance reporting. The discussions that followed highlighted the importance of interpreting judicial statistics in context and strengthening capacities for the practical use of performance data. The expert’s recommendations contributed to improving both the structure and the content of the Guide.
The Guide will now be submitted to the Superior Council of Magistracy for adoption. Its objective is to promote a data-driven approach to court management, based on key performance indicators covering efficiency, timeliness and quality. It is designed to support courts in analysing performance trends, identifying challenges and making informed decisions.
This activity was conducted within the framework of the Project “Support to further modernisation of court management in the Republic of Moldova”, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe within the Partnership for Good Governance.
