The launch event of the European Union-Council of Europe joint project “Sport For All: Promoting Inclusion and Combating Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities” took place on 15 May 2025.

The “Sport For All” project builds on ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive sports culture by breaking down barriers and promoting greater inclusion of people with disabilities in sports.

This event brought together athletes, experts and representatives from the European Commission and the Council of Europe, to discuss best practices and the way forward to advance integration of people with disabilities in sport and fight against discrimination.

Sport for All in brief

Inclusion is a fundamental principle and essential aim for both the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Union (EU). The CoE and the EU are pursuing their co-operation in the field of inclusion in sport in the framework of the joint project “Sport For All” (March 2025 – August 2026).
