The Equality Council is strengthening its monitoring function with support from the Council of Europe

The EU/CoE Partnership for Good Governance supports the Moldovan Equality Council with the development of a monitoring strategy in line with European Standards.

On the 2nd and 3rd of September, Moldovan Equality Council members took part in a 2-day online workshop to strengthen their skills and capacity in view of developing, implementing and keeping under review an effective monitoring strategy. The training tool place following a remote assessment mission of the existing monitoring mechanisms and instruments of the Equality Council. As a result of the workshop, a framework for a monitoring strategy was produced. This framework defines the goals, purposes, strands of action and indicators for the monitoring function, in accordance with the international standards set for equality bodies by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance.

This activity was organized as part of the assistance provided to the Moldovan Equality Council, partner institution of the national project “Strengthening the capacities of the justice sector actors to deliver justice in line with European standards, in particular to fight discrimination in the Republic of Moldova”, implemented in the frame of the joint EU/CoE Programme “Partnership for Good Governance II”.
