A second webinar, part of a series dedicated to “Judicial proceedings within reasonable time”, was held on 3 June 2021. Its aim was to present Council of Europe European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) timeframes in conformity with Article 6 of the European Convention of Human Rights. In addition to explaining the notion of reasonable length of judicial proceedings, the related definition of backlog, and the process through which timeframes should be set.
An international expert presented concepts, tools, and examples about the development, deployment and monitoring of judicial timeframes to the participants of the webinars, comprised of judges, court managers, judicial assistants and chief registrars. Followed by discussions on the implementation of improvements on reasonable timeframes in Georgian courts.
This event was organised in the framework of the project “Enhancing the accountability and the efficiency of the judicial system and the professionalism of lawyers”, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II.
