On 27 November 2020, the joint EU / CoE project implemented in the frame of the Partnership for Good Governance II ”Strengthening the capacities of the justice sector actors to deliver justice in line with European standards, in particular to fight discrimination in the Republic of Moldova” organized its Second Steering Committee Meeting.
The aim of the event was to present the state of implementation and results of the national project in November 2019 – November 2020, as well as the activities planned for 2021. The online meeting brought together 16 representatives of the project’s beneficiary institutions, the Council of Europe, the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, international organizations and NGOs.
In its second year of implementation, the project organized 25 events, the vast majority of them online, counting over 350 participants. In the framework of the project were provided - expert opinions, assessment missions followed by reports with recommendations and capacity building activities. The project activities for 2021 were presented and approved.
Background
The Council of Europe is implementing the Project “Strengthening the capacities of the justice sector actors to deliver justice in line with European standards, in particular to fight discrimination in the Republic of Moldova” under the auspices of the EU/CoE Partnership for Good Governance for Eastern Partnership Countries 2019-2021. The Project started in May 2019 and will last until December 2021. The main objective of the Project is to better align delivered justice with European standards at national level in the field of discrimination.
