Legal professionals in Azerbaijan get trained on collection and analysis of court statistics

In co-operation with the Justice Academy of Azerbaijan, two online training sessions on improving the efficiency and quality of courts based on the tools and guidelines developed by the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ).

These trainings aimed to deepen the knowledge on judicial statistics, data analysis (including performance indicators) as well as data collection and reporting through presentations and discussion on practical cases facilitated by three local trainers who completed the Training of Trainers provided by the CEPEJ in June 2021. The trainings were attended by court presidents, judges, court staff, legal advisors and judge assistants of Azerbaijani courts.

Following the first cycle of data collection, CEPEJ Secretariat responsible for the implementation of the regional project "Justice Dashboard EaP," raised awareness among participants on ways to improve the mechanism of collection, processing and analysis of judicial data in Azerbaijan in accordance with CEPEJ standards and tools. On this occasion, they have also presented the CEPEJ bi-annual exercise of evaluation of the judicial systems and the CEPEJ-STAT-dynamic database.

The trainings were organised in the framework of the project "Strengthening the efficiency and quality of the judicial system in Azerbaijan," funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II 2019-2022.
