Leaflet on the Istanbul Convention’s monitoring system now available in Azerbaijani

A leaflet explaining the monitoring mechanism of the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) is now available in Azerbaijani.

The Istanbul Convention establishes a monitoring system based on two-pillars to help states parties implement it: an independent expert body, the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO), and a political body, the Committee of the Parties.

Although Azerbaijan has not yet signed the Istanbul Convention, this publication has been prepared in order to raise awareness on how Azerbaijan could benefit of being part of the convention and how its monitoring system can accompany the authorities in preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.

You can learn more about the monitoring system here (in Azerbaijani), and more about the project here.

This translation was prepared within the framework of the project “Raising awareness of the Istanbul Convention and other gender equality standards in Azerbaijan”, as part of the Partnership for Good Governance II programme, and is financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the latter.
