On 22 July 2021 the online training on Leadership skills development for women-judges took place within in the framework project ''Support to the judicial reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia.''
One of the Project’s components is focused on empowerment of women-judges by enhancing their leadership skills. For that purpose in September 2020 the Project organised the first one-day training for 25 Armenian women-judges on enhancement of their leadership skills.
Following the first training, the Project organised the second training on leadership skills development for another group of Armenian women-judges. The online training was held by the Council of Europe international consultant Ms Jelena Ristikj, the Vice President and Governing Board Member of the North Macedonia Bar Association, who also conducted the first training.
During the training the discussions were hold on the importance of the women’s role in the judiciary, leadership traits and types of leadership, development of leadership skills, obstacles in career development for women-judges and actions for removal of those barriers.
The online training was attended by the women-judges of the first instance courts of the Yerevan city, the regions of Lori, Ararat and Gegharkunik, and the Bankruptcy court.
This event was organised in the framework of the project ''Support to the judicial reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia,'' funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II (2019-2022).
