25 judges and prosecutors strengthened their knowledge on national and international remedies in cases of discrimination through an online training.
The event held on 27 April, focused on the international legal framework and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights pertaining to discrimination, as well as the right to an effective remedy in discrimination cases within the scope of application of Articles 6 and 13 of the ECHR. The national legal framework, as well as the practice of the Equality Council and the available national remedies were presented during this training.
This training was carried out jointly with the National Institute of Justice in the framework of the project ”Strengthening the capacities of the justice sector actors to deliver justice in line with European standards, in particular to fight discrimination in the Republic of Moldova,” funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II 2019-2022.
