On 4 February 2022, a joint event dedicated to the launch of the new website of the Constitutional Court and the 26th Anniversary of Founding of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia was organised by the Constitutional Court and the European Union-Council of Europe Partnership for Good Governance II “Support to the Judicial Reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia” project.

The event was attended by the President of the Constitutional Court of RA, Mr Arman Dilanyan, the Head of European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador H.E. Ms Andrea Wiktorin, Head of the Council of Europe office in Yerevan, Ms Martina Schmidt, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Cooperation Programmes Division, Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, Ms Lilit Daneghian as well as heads of diplomatic missions in Armenia, representatives of executive, legislative branches, the judiciary and civil society organisations.

The Head of Council of Europe office in Yerevan Ms Martina Schmidt mentioned in her opening speech: "In the constitutional reform process that has just been launched by the Prime Minister by approving the individual composition of the Council for constitutional reforms last week, the role of the Constitutional Court as impartial decision-maker and guarantor of fair proceedings in public decision making will be even more important for the country. Therefore, I want to applaud President Dilanyan and your team for your forward-looking decision towards more openness and engagement with the different stakeholders in the judicial reform process and the public and to make the work of the Constitutional Court more transparent and accessible."

This event was organised in the framework of the project "Support to the Judicial Reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia," funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II (2019-2022).
