IT-based solutions are envisaged to increase the efficiency of the enforcement system in the Republic of Moldova

A coordination meeting in online format took place on 9 October 2020 to address the needs and discuss further steps in the implementation of IT-based solutions for the enforcement system in civil and administrative matters. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the National Union of Enforcement Agents, as main partners of the Council of Europe and European Union Project “Support to further strengthening the efficiency and quality of the justice sector in the Republic of Moldova”.

The discussions outlined the opportunity to further develop the electronic Register of the enforcement procedures and to create an online platform for the auctioning of seized goods. These tools should streamline the procedure flow in the enforcement system, make it more secure, reduce the costs and the length of procedures, factors that will have a direct positive impact on the last phase of the justice act – enforcement of court decisions.

The Ministry of Justice expressed its openness and commitment to cooperate with all involved parties, including the National Union of Enforcement Agents and the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice, and underlined the relevance of implementing new technologies in the light of the objectives set in the Action Plan of the draft Strategy on Ensuring the Independence and Integrity of Justice Sector for 2021 -2024.

This project is funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and is implemented by the latter in the framework of the Partnership for Good Governance II Programme.
