In the Republic of Moldova, the PGG regional anti-discrimination project carried out a participatory inter-agency process with law enforcement agencies (Police, Prosecutor’s Office, Police Academy, National Institute of Justice) and the Equality Council to harmonise the collection and use of disaggregated data on hate crimes and the related training for law enforcement agents on equality and hate crimes. This process involved institutions in a strategic group that identified the gaps and needs and in setting the parameters for a curriculum for the mentioned trainings. “This project created a space for our institution to exchange and learn from each other and opportunities to improve our practice and respond to ECRI monitoring recommendations”, commented the representative of the General Police Inspectorate in the group.
