A series of online discussions under the name “Evening talks”, aiming at contributing to the quality improvement of the justice system in Georgia, continues during the month of March. The online programme creates a platform promoting different policy papers, guidelines, and documents developed by the Council of Europe for the member states in the field of the Judiciary.
On 23 March at 18:00 (GMT+4), this online event to be transmitted live through our Facebook page, will focus on “How to drive change towards cyberjustice”. Based on CEPEJ guideline, the talks will overview the role of information technology tools in improving the performance and efficiency of judicial systems; what is cyberjustice existing practice at the European level, the aim it pursues and the ability to improve the quality and effectiveness of judicial systems. The session will highlight the obligations of policymakers in driving change process towards the development and discuss the implementation of digital justice policies.
Invited speaker of the session will be João Pedro Arsénio de Oliveira, Head of International Affairs Department at Ministry of Justice of Portugal, Chair of the European Committee on Legal Cooperation (CDCJ), Member of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) Working Group on Quality of Justice from Portugal.
The talks are hosted by the judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia, a nominated member at CCJE and CEPEJ Nino Bakakuri. Talks are aired live through our official Facebook page giving the possibility to public to ask and get the topic-related questions live.
