The 1st Steering Committee meeting of the PGG project on strengthening the capacities of the Moldovan justice sector was held on 25 September 2019. Participants have approved the project plan and appreciated the necessity for this country-specific project that would build on the efforts and progress made during the first phase of the Partnership for Good Governance (PGG I) 2014-2017.
The project, with a budget of 655,000 euros, aims to strengthen the Moldovan Equality Council ́s practice, to improve the training provided by the Lawyers Training Centre, and to enhance the capacity of judges and prosecutors to deliver high quality justice – in particular in discrimination cases – by applying European standards.
The representatives of Civil Society Organisations present at the meeting have expressed their interest and support for the project activities underlining the need for expanding the area of beneficiaries of human rights education.
