Enhancing the capacity of teachers to adopt and implement inclusive teaching practices is one of the objectives of the Council of Europe/ European Union Joint Programme “Inclusive Schools: Making a Difference for Roma Children” (INSCHOOL).
Promoting inclusive education through peer-to-peer exchanges between UK and Slovak teachers

On 24-25 October 2018, a training session for 20 teachers from the 7 INSCHOOL schools in Slovakia was organised in Poprad. Thanks to the participation of the INSCHOOL experts and 3 teachers from Babington Academy, Leicester, UK, it was possible to offer a platform for discussion on how to put in practice inclusive teaching methods, with very concrete examples. This was strengthened by the experience and contribution from the Ambassador for Inclusive Schools Ondrej Olah, who is today a teaching assistant in Babington (read his story here: https://rm.coe.int/a-close-call-ambassadors-for-inclusive-schools/16808b4ead )

Interventions of INSCHOOL facilitators will continue in INSCHOOL schools and will focus in the coming weeks on the preparation of an inclusive school development plans and grant request with the schools’ coordinating groups.
