On September 6, the members of the Steering Committee of the EU/CoE joint project Building Capacity for Inclusion in Education – INCLUDE held their 7th and final meeting in Pristina.
Frank Power, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Pristina, opened the meeting by thanking all partners for their outstanding commitment and involvement in the project and in achieving all the planned project results. Luljeta Kabashi from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation commended the project for its close work with schools to create a democratic school culture, contributing to better democratic society.
Anne-Sophie Houée and Lucia Parducci from the EU Office in Kosovo* highlighted that the project succeeding in putting inclusive education at the heart of the agenda of policy makers, education professionals, parents and students and showed how to implement inclusiveness in practice.
Samir Hećo from the Education Department of the Council of Europe thanked all stakeholders for their valuable contribution and underlined that the project results feed into the upcoming Council of Europe education strategy and priorities.
Following the opening remarks, Samir Hećo and Vjosa Rogova- Damoni presented the results achieved during the reporting period as well as the plan for the remaining period of the project until December 2023. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion and valuable feedback by the members who commended the project results and co-operation.
Members of the Committee include the EU Task Manager, representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Prime Minister Office, the Head of the Collegium of Municipal Education Directorates, local CSOs and the Council of Europe.
