Project of the Secondary Vocational and Higher Education School "Sergije Stanić": Switch On To Be Seen Better
Specific project’s objectives
- To improve the support to educative institution and contribute to higher educative and social involvement of children who belong to sensitive groups
- To raise the level of educative inclusion of pupils with special educational needs in regular system of education in local community
- To raise the level of awareness and comprehension of pupils, teachers, local community about principles of social inclusion of children with special educational needs, children at risk of marginalisation and talented children through organisation of activities that improve inclusive policy and practice and raise awareness in this field
- To improve inter institutional cooperation on local level
- To increase the level of awareness of pupils with special educational needs about their capacities and possibilities to integrate in society
Project’s main activities:
Creative room
- A room will be adapted and equipped for children from the most sensitive groups:
- - children from families with low social-economical status, including Roma people,
- - children with no parental care,
- - children with special needs,
- - children who misconduct or have unsocial behaviour,
- - children who are at risk of marginalisation because of social - economic, religious, language, cultural and national factors and differences and talented children
- Activities of Creative room:
The Room will be active every working day and it can be used for additional extra curricular activities:- - Talented children will be working on creating a calendar for 2015 and designing a visual identity of the project
- - Peer learning: pupils with achievements will learn from talented peers
- - Pupils can use computers and Internet access of the Creative Room
Debate clubs
- Pupils, parents and teachers will discuss on relevant themes on inclusion. This activity aims to include more parents into the school activities. Furthermore, the exchange of children, parents and teachers, opinions, through debates will develop the culture of dialogue and accepting different and other opinion.
Education for teachers and parents
- Two- day seminar on theme Inclusion and work with children with special educational needs. It will be organized in cooperation with Institute of Education
- The celebration of Children’s Day-“Day of substituted roles”- pupils participants would have roles of teachers in order to understand better the teacher’s job and his obligations, which would have better results in teacher-pupils relation.
Equipping and furnishing classrooms for practical education and better preparement for the labor market– My classroom, as a tour agency
Final Manifestation “Swich on to be seen better”
- Teachers and pupils will create a program Swich on to be seen better. It will be performed in Shopping Mall DELTA CITY, which is daily visited by many citizens. Media will cover the event, what will will attract the attention of the society, and show the importance creating acceptive environment for those who feel different.
Project’s target groups
- Direct beneficiaries: 150 pupils including those who belong to the most sensitive groups, 70 teachers, 60 parents
- Indirect beneficiaries: local community (60), relevant institutions that school cooperates with (10)
