Council of Europe marks the International Day Against-Corruption

A lecture on Academic Integrity was held on 6 December 2017 at the premises of the University library in Pristina. Following the opening remarks by the Council of Europe, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the University of Pristina, the head of Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency presented the mandate of the agency in dealing with cases of corruption in higher education and also spoke about some specific cases in which the agency intervened. Following that, the guest lecturer, Dr Irene Glendenning from the Coventry University presented her work on ensuring good academic practice and integrity. Moreover, Dr Glendenning presented the Council of Europe funded research, carried out within the framework of the South East European Project on Policies for Academic Integrity – a study of 6 countries of the Western Balkans. Academic staff, students as well as stakeholders working in higher education attended the event, and were particularly interested in ways to prevent plagiarism and contract cheating.

The event was organised within the framework of the HF Action Strengthen Integrity and Combat Corruption in Higher Education, in cooperation with the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency.
