Regional Workshop on Cooperation Strategies between Anti-Corruption Agencies, Civil Society and the Media

In the framework of the South Programme III, the Council of Europe organised on 12-14 February 2020, a regional workshop which aimed to promote a strategic approach to cooperation between anti-corruption agencies, civil society and the media.

After gathering input from southern Mediterranean and European anti-corruption authorities through the Network of Corruption Prevention Agencies (NCPA), the activity brought together its main beneficiaries, namely the Moroccan, Jordanian, Palestinian* and Tunisian anti-corruption authorities, with their European counterparts, as well as representatives of media organisations and anti-corruption NGOs, with a view to develop a common vision for effective cooperation with these two essential non-state sectors. The participants’ reflections on current practices and challenges fed into the development of two Model Strategies for Cooperation, respectively with the Civil Society and the Media, which will serve as valuable tools for anti-corruption agencies of the MENA region and beyond.
