Back Romania - Thematic Debate on Early Education

Follow up to the high-level conference "I want to go to school! On the need for inclusive and quality education"
Early education area is an important topic as it lies the foundation of pupils’ future development and provides a ground for learning their cognitive, social and emotional skills. It is particularly essential to ensure that adequate access is provided for rural areas with special attention paid to children in vulnerable situations, including Roma children. Effective early childhood education would contribute to reducing school drop-out and translate into better social inclusion and breaking the poverty cycle.
Romania - Thematic Debate on Early Education

On 11 November 2020, at 11h00 local time, a debate on the topic of early education in Romania will take place with the participation of the representatives of major political parties in Romania presenting their stance and plans as regards the access to but also quality of early education in the country. It is particularly important in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections to initiate a debate and place education on the agenda of policy makers. In addition to the political debate, an expert in the area of early education will be present and contribute to the discussions.

This event is organised under the auspices of the “Educated Romania” Project and co-organised by the Foundation “Impreuna”, the joint EU/Council of Europe Project “INSCHOOL”, European Commission Representation in Romania, University of Bucharest and supported by UNICEF. The event will be broadcast online by Digi24 and can be accessed on www.digi24.ro and digi24 social media pages.
