The fifth and final Steering Committee meeting for the Horizontal Facility Action “Accountability of the Judicial System” took place on 16 May 2019 in Podgorica.

The meeting gathered the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and of the Council of Europe, together with the main beneficiary institutions – Judicial Council, Prosecutorial Council, Supreme Court of Montenegro, Supreme State Prosecutor`s Office, Centre for training in Judiciary and State Prosecution, Ministry of Justice of Montenegro, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Association of Judges of Montenegro and Association of Prosecutors of Montenegro.

Following the presentation and discussions related to the implemented activities, main achievements and encountered challenges under the first phase of the Action, the project management team presented the continuation of the Action under the Horizontal Facility Programme-phase II which shall be implemented until May 2022.

The activity was organised within the Action “Accountability of the Judicial System” which is being implemented in Montenegro under the joint Council of Europe and the European Union programme “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”.
