Workshops for staff of the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on implementation of the European Court of Human Rights case-law

Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms is a part of the national legislation of Ukraine and envisages the recognition of the compulsory jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights by the state. The workshops were organized with the support of the EU/CoE joint Project "Consolidation of Justice Sector Policy Development in Ukraine" and EU/CoE joint Project "Strengthening the Implementation of European Standards of Human Rights in Ukraine".

The first workshop “European Court on Human Rights: history, judges, structure and jurisdiction. The competence of the Court and its case-law as a source of national law” and the second workshop "Expertise of the legislative acts on their compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights and European Court of Human rights case-law. Execution of judgments of the European Court of Human rights" were conducted in cooperation with the Government Agent before the European Court on Human Rights.
