Roundtable “Regular Judicial Performance Evaluation of Judges in Ukraine: Ways to Identify a Judge’s Individual Professional Development Needs”

 

Roundtable “Regular Judicial Performance Evaluation of Judges in Ukraine: Ways to Identify a Judge’s Individual Professional Development Needs”, organized by High Qualifications Commission of Judges of Ukraine, National School of Judges of Ukraine in cooperation with the international projects working in Ukraine to support reforms in justice sector: USAID Fair Justice Project, EU/CoE joint Project “Consolidation of Justice Sector Policy Development in Ukraine”, EU Project “Support to Justice Sector Reform in Ukraine” and CoE Project “Support to the Implementation of the Judicial Reform in Ukraine” was held on 4 March 2016 in Kyiv .

The issues on regular performance evaluation of judges, evaluation of judges based on results of training at the National School of Judges, performance evaluation of judges by peer judges, as well as evaluation of judges by civil societies were discussed during the roundtable.  

The participants got acquainted with international and European experience concerning regular performance evaluation of judges presented by the experts from Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands and Lithuania.

The roundtable was attended by the representatives of the High Qualifications Commission of Judges of Ukraine, National School of Judges of Ukraine, High Council of Justice of Ukraine, State Court Administration of Ukraine, civil societies, international projects and initiatives, national and international experts, and judges.
