On 18 October 2016, the COMUS Local Stakeholders Group hosted an international workshop chaired by Mr. Vazha Chokheli, Governor of Dusheti Municipality, in order to discuss the project design for the rehabilitation of Dusheti historical park.
The event, co-organized by the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, counted on the participation of representatives of the European Historic Gardens Network and the Georgian Association of Landscape Architects.
Participants had the opportunity to visit the park and discuss the project design, which was presented by the Municipal Development Fund and the contractor company. After an intensive exchange of opinions, the agreement to improve the project design to international standards in accordance with the comments provided by the EGHN representatives was reached.
The rehabilitation of Dusheti historical park which is the key component of the historical centre rehabilitation, planned in scopes of the Regional Development Program implemented by the Government of Georgia with the World Bank funding , is a community subject of high interest.
