3rd meeting of COMUS national stakeholders

On 24th June, the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia hosted the 3rd meeting of COMUS national stakeholders aiming at discussing the recent developments of the project. The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Culture Ms. Levan Kharatishvili, was attended by the Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Tbilisi, Ms. Ana Zec, and the members of the NSG, who were actively involved in the discussions on the Pilot Towns’ Reference Plans and had the opportunity to get informed on the Project Phase guidelines and action plan.

The new members - the National Parliamentary Library, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and the Administration of the Government of Georgia, also joined the meeting.

A special attention was given to good management of making use of the Pilot Towns own human resources. In this sense, COMUS has proved being an efficient capacity building instrument as well as a driver for innovative approaches to strategic planning in small historic towns.

Next NSG meeting was scheduled by the end of 2016, possibly in combination with the regional COMUS meeting.
