Quality education for all – Serbia: another series of online teacher training for more than 200 educationalists

Professional development and improved ways of working with students should never be disregarded. Especially not during the pandemic that has disrupted the processes of teaching and learning. While the challenges imposed on the teachers and students become more and more prominent, innovative approaches must be devised so that no single student is left behind. This is especially relevant for vulnerable children who feel the pressures of pandemic-enforced new reality harder than ever. And helping and improving culture of unity, trust and democracy is at the very core of the Quality education for all action.

The need for continuous professional development, best practices and ideas exchange and learning about the practical implementation of the Reference framework of competences for democratic culture was again recognised by the action and further structured, custom-made, online trainings were delivered during the month of November. This time, 16 two parts webinars were created with the purpose of going deeper into the specific topics. The intention was also to focus on specific competences of the Framework and expand on the practical usage in the classroom but also, online.

More than 200 teachers and other education professionals from 60 participating schools joined this series of accredited webinars and based on the feedback received, they all found them very useful for their day-to-day activities. Moreover, the colleagues from the schools shared a variety of extraordinary examples of competences implementation and based on that, it was clear that students benefit largely from those inventive approaches teachers make.

The action on Quality education for all is implemented under the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022“.
