Code of Ethics for mediators in Montenegro

With the support of the action on “Accountability and professionalism of the judicial system in Montenegro“, the Center for mediation in Montenegro has prepared the Code of Ethics for mediators.

The mediators now have modern Code of Ethics, aligned with the European practice and standards for mediation which will be distributed to all licensed mediators in Montenegro.

According to the Report of the Center for Mediation for 2019, in total 150 licenced mediators in Montenegro were dealing with 1908 mediation cases last year and almost half of that number has had positive mediation outcome.

The implementation of a revised code shall contribute to achievement of higher level of responsibility and enhance professionalism of the mediators in Montenegro supporting more effective use of mediation in the judicial system.

The action “Accountability and professionalism of the judicial system in Montenegro” is implemented under the joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
