With the initiative of the EU and Council of Europe joint Horizontal Facility programme in North Macedonia – JUFREX action, the Guide on Article 10 of the European Convention for Human Rights is available for Macedonian legal practitioners and the interested public. This Guide is part of the series of Case-Law Guides published by the European Court of Human Rights and aims to inform legal practitioners about the fundamental judgments and decisions delivered by the Court during the period from 1957 to 31 March 2020.

Readers will herein find the key principles in this area and the relevant precedents. The case-law cited has been selected among the leading, major, and/or recent judgments and decisions and provides important references with regards to the protection of freedom of expression and freedom of the media. With this translation the legal professionals would gain one more useful tool produced under the joint JUFREX action of the European Union and the Council of Europe. Guide on Article 10 translated in Macedonian will further contribute in the improvement of the application of European standards in the field of freedom of expression in North Macedonia.

The action on Freedom of expression and freedom of the media in North Macedonia - JUFREX, is part of the “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey II”, a joint EU and Council of Europe programme implemented by the Council of Europe, which aims at assisting Beneficiaries in the Western Balkans region and Turkey to comply with the Council of Europe standards and European Union acquis in the framework of the enlargement process, where relevant.
