The fact that face to face training cannot be held for safety reasons should not hinder our professional development. Luckily, we live in an era when modern technology makes it possible to stay at home and still learn and grow. With this in mind, the Quality education for all action in Serbia teamed up with colleagues from Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and on 15 May organised the first teacher training session for teachers from 11 schools participating in our actions in all three Beneficiaries.

The aim of the training was to provide a conceptual overview of the Council of Europe’s Reference framework of competences for democratic culture. As all the schools are new to the concept, the teachers learned about the idea behind the framework, methodology of implementation and the importance of fostering a democratic school culture. As the virtual meet up was regional, it provided a unique opportunity to hear what wonderful work is being done by colleagues from the three Beneficiaries in these unprecedented times that pose challenges never experienced before. The action will continue with online training focusing on different aspects and modalities of systematic work with the goal of continuously improving tolerance, understanding and co-operation.

The action on “Quality education for all” is implemented under the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022“.
