Back Steering Committee meeting for the action on education in Montenegro held online

The second Steering Committee meeting for the action “Quality Education for All” took place on 5 May 2020 via video conference.

The meeting provided a unique opportunity for all Committee members coming from the Ministry of Education, University of Montenegro, Bureau for Education Services, Anti-Corruption Agency, Centre for Vocational Education, Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education to present how the COVID-19 outbreak has affected their institutions as well as the measures taken in response to the situation.

The project team presented the action’s progress and the mitigating measures applied in March and April 2020 to achieve the expected project outputs. Such measures inter alia included a revised activity timeline, remote expert assistance, organising online training, and frequent consultations both with the beneficiary and the donor. It also included Council of Europe`s offer to provide rapid assistance in addressing problems of the school lockdowns.

The partners expressed strong support in continuing activities according to the revised work plan and even committed to full engagement during the crisis.

The event was organised within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” and its action on “Quality education for all” in Montenegro.
