The joint European Union/Council of Europe action „Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ realeased new publications. They aim to assist policy makers and professionals in the country with relevant knowledge and analysis of root causes of  trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation as well as gender-based violence. The publications also aim to empower vulnerable groups to avoid falling prey to trafficking.

The study „Labour trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina: risk factors, trends and challenges“  analyses the social and economic context and structural factors that make individuals and communities vulnerable to trafficking, and offers suggestions on how to improve current the  national response to trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation.

The „Information brochure on risks of human trafficking for labour exploitation abroad“, produced with the suppport of the government and civil society organisations, aims to help  Bosnian citizens to avoid becoming victims of trafficking and exploitation, and advises on fair working conditions and labour rights (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian language). Real traumatic experience of labour trafficking was shared by Seudin Zoletić and Marko Tamindžija who explained their calvary before getting out of the expliitation circle.

The guide “Promoting gender equality and combating gender-based violence and stereotypes as means of combating trafficking in human beings” explains the links between human trafficking and gender-based violence and stereotypes, and it is intended for professionals working with women and girls.

The action „Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina“ is implemented within the joint programme of the European Union/Council of Europe "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".
