Training of CEPEJ pilot courts in Tunisia

The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) organised a series of capacity-building workshops for judges and clerks of pilot courts of Tunis, Zaghouan, Kairouan, Nabeul, Gabès and Sidi Bouzid from 28 to 31 March 2017. Officials from the Ministry of Justice and the Higher Institute of Magistrates also participated in the workshop.

In the first part of the training, participants explored the functionalities of judicial scorecards as an authentic court management tool, with a focus on the collection of statistical data, their analysis and their use to assess an activity and guide the courts. The second part of the training was devoted to the development of the competences of the clerks, in the workplace and on the basis of the knowledge and experience of colleagues, following the example of the training courses developed in situ by the Geneva Cantonal Courts (Switzerland).
