70 school professionals from pilot schools from the project “Building Capacity for Inclusion in Education” completed a ten-day training programme on inclusive education. The training exceeded participants’ expectations, all of whom evaluated the training as very useful for their daily work.

"This was such a good opportunity for our school. I will try to implement in practice the knowledge gained during this training, and I will do my best to make sure that our school is open and welcoming for every child" said Edona Rexhepaj, teacher at the primary school Shaban Idrizi - Zhabar/Žabar, Mitrovica while Arieta Bajrami, teacher from Elena Gjika primary school in Pristina added "I am privileged that I had the opportunity to be part of this training. All knowledge gained is something that can be applied in practice."

Immediately on March 5 and 6, new training sessions started for 7 more pilot schools. Originally developed by the UNICEF regional office for the Western Balkans, this training programme was adapted to the needs of teachers by the INCLUDE project and now contains a module on assessment of students with special educational needs and a module on Individual Educational Plans for children with special education needs. The training was accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation for two years and more than 500 teachers from 50 pilot schools will be trained by the end of 2023.
