On 12-13 July 2018 the European Union and the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, organized training for two groups of prosecutors on communication standards with persons with disabilities (PWD).

The aim of the training was to improve prosecutors’ communication skills with people with disabilities. The participants had an opportunity to enhance their knowledge on topics such as the case law of the European Court of Human Rights on rights of PWD, status of PWD in the national legislation participation of PWD in investigation procedures, types of disabilities and discriminatory behavior analysis. The training course along with theoretical part was enriched with practical exercises.

The event was organised in the framework of the European Union and Council of Europe joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia” ,within the Partnership for Good Governance.
