Inclusive School Net

OFFICIAL LAUNCHING Tirana 6 November 2013

The regional network of Pilot inclusive schools (Inclusive School Net) has been officially launched on 6th November 2013 in Tirana, at the project's regional conference on "Embracing Diversity Through Education" hosted by the Ministry of Education and Sports of Albania.

The project team invited pilot schools in the network to nominate one school team member to attend the official launching of the network.

The nominated team member was in addition expected to participate in and contribute to the conference "Embracing Diversity Through Education" for its entire duration, in other words 6th – 7th November.

The Conference "Embracing Diversity Through Education" provided an opportunity to learn about best practices in inclusive education in South East Europe and beyond. It examined how diversity can be embraced in education and how schools, parents and children can all benefit from this approach. Above all, the Conference offered the chance for participants to explore the concept of diversity in its various levels and aspects.

The working languages were English, Albanian, Macedonian, Bosnian/ Croatian/ Montenegrin/ Serbian.

The Joint European Union and Council of Europe Project "Regional Support for Inclusive Education", which started in January 2013, has, through an open and transparent process, selected 49 schools from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, "The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" and Kosovo* to participate in the project as pilot schools whose inclusive practices will be supported, enriched and later on replicated as successful examples.
