Judges and prosecutors from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) participated in a cascade training on whistleblowers protection, that was organised online on 5 and 6 November 2020.

The topic of the training was presented through basic concepts and legal mechanisms on whistleblowers protection, as well as through international legal instruments and good practices. The experts presented on the European Court of Human Rights case-law, existing regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and, additionally, explored the example of Italy. The participants had the opportunity to participate in the practical exercises and discussed the latest developments, but also weaknesses and difficulties in implementation of the existing legal framework regarding the whistleblowers protection.

Council of Europe expert, Ivana Roagna, and local experts and prosecutors Sanin Bogunic and Samir Selimovic, were educators at the training. This event was organised in partnership with the Center for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This webinar was organised within the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, and its action on “Freedom of expression and freedom of the media in Bosnia and Herzegovina (JUFREX)”.
