Following the adoption of the law 20/2020 on the finalisation of the transitional ownership processes in Albania, the joint European Union and Council of Europe Action “Supporting enforcement of the judicial decisions and facilitating the execution of ECtHR judgements in Albania” has extended its support the State Cadastre Agency (SAC) to improving sub-legal framework and its implementation. In this context, the Action shall support SAC with an information and awareness-raising campaign for property owners in 8 selected cadastre’s areas in Albania that are undergoing the first registration process.

The novelty of this campaign is the involvement of law faculty students of Tirana University who will be given the opportunity to join the campaign and to practice human rights education in their communities.

In this view, on 12 and 3 November, an intensive online training reached out over 160 interested students and young professionals from the Law Faculty of the Tirana University focusing on the provisions of the Law 11/2018 on Cadastre, in relation to the first registration process as well as the application of the Law 20/2020 on the registration of agricultural tittles (AMTP).

In the coming weeks, about 25 trained law students will join the SAC’s teams in 8 sites around the country and contribute in the first registration process.

The action “Supporting enforcement of the judicial decisions and facilitating the execution of ECtHR judgements in Albania”, is part of the “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” programme, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
