The Sport For All podcast shows how powerful Boccia can be through Mathilde Troude’s journey

In the latest episode of the “Sport For All” podcast series, French boccia athlete Mathilde Troude shares her experience as a high-level athlete and advocate for inclusive sport.

Boccia is a Paralympic sport that combines precision, concentration and strategy. Similar to pétanque and sometimes compared to chess because of its tactical dimension, the sport is played individually or in teams and has become one of the most inclusive disciplines within Para sport.

As an international competitor, Mathilde reflects on the importance of determination, preparation and teamwork in high level sport. Looking back on her journey, she highlights how sport can boost confidence, promote social inclusion and support personal development.

A key message emerging from the discussion is that sport should be accessible to everyone and that greater visibility of Para sports is essential to encourage more young people to take part.

The episode also highlights the important role played by local authorities, clubs and schools in creating inclusive sporting opportunities and supporting athletes throughout their careers.
