The first major event of the EU/CoE Joint Programme JUSTROM3, an Induction Course for JUSTROM3 consultants, took place on 10-14 February 2020 at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France. All consultants contracted for the programme met and exchanged ideas on the implementation of the programme. The main objectives were:

  • To develop common understanding of the programme and establish common vision and tools;
  • Become aware of the local specificities and implication for project implementation;
  • Exchange of experiences for team members as national team and on sectorial/professional levels;
  • Receive input on gender equality, anti-discrimination and European standards (ECHR, ECRI, Gender Equality units and others) and mainstream Roma issues and Roma women’s difficulties in accessing justice within other sectors of the Council of Europe;
  • Define concrete tools, processes and recommendations for the implementation of the programme, in particular national and local action plans defined collectively and ideas to experiment according to context.
The one-week residential course was facilitated by 4 trainers from Bulgaria, Italy, Greece and Romania, and numerous colleagues from DGI, DGII and the European Court of Human Rights have agreed to take part in the discussions and provide their expert input.
