Back EU Public Consultation : Validation of non-formal and informal learning – evaluation

Please share your feedback by 13 November 2019 (midnight Brussels time)

This consultation is part of the evaluation of the 2012 EU Recommendation on validation of non-formal and informal learning, which expressly asks for “consultation with Member States and stakeholders”. People develop skills outside education (e.g. through work experience, volunteering or sport). If such skills are not validated – documented, assessed and certified by an authority – they risk to be wasted. The Recommendation calls on EU Member States to make more and better validation opportunities available to people.

Consulting stakeholders will provide the European Commission with information and views on how Member States are putting the Recommendation in practice and whether this is giving people more and better opportunities to validate their skills. This will help the Commission and national authorities to identify ways to improve the Recommendation and its implementation.

You can contribute to this consultation by filling in the online questionnaire available in some or all official EU languages. You can submit your responses in any official EU language.

For reasons of transparency, organisations and businesses taking part in public consultations are asked to register in the EU’s Transparency Register
