The Directorate of Social Welfare Affairs is established in 1986 and operated under Keçiören Municipality- www.kecioren.bel.tr- which has an important place within the scope of serving for all disadvanged groups such as elderly, retired, women, young people, children, disabled, migrants from rural in society. It is working with a great service team to offer those services. It provides cash assitance to those who need, share their common problems and take preventive measures, produse projects on the fields of social services and also direct administer grants on the one hand which based on civil society and volunteerism for all society in Keçiören district (Over 1 million population). Some of the offered services are social aid, elderly home, disability services, women’s counselling center and women’s shelter.
- A few words about myself
- Gelnta ACHMET OGLOU is a Project Development Specialist and a Consultant on EU Funded Projects.
She is also a member of the Turkish Association of University Women, Association of Conservative and Democratic Thought, Turkey Disable’s Education and Solidarity Foundation.
Since September 2011, she is the founder member of “Enterpreneur and Innovative Youth Association” and National Volunteering Committee specializing on youth policies and volunteer.
She has experience in Local Authority in Turkey and working as a Project Coordinator at Keçiören Municipality for developing social welfare projects.
She graduated the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey), and currently she is focus on International Relations in Euromed Region.
Gelnta was born in Bonn (Germany) in 1980.
