Developing Joint Action Plans for Roma Integration at Local Level in Albania

The second national workshop “Developing Joint Action Plans for Roma Integration at Local Level” of the joint EU/CoE ROMACTED Programme took place today in Tirana. It aimed at building the capacity of Albanian local authorities and Roma communities to prepare and implement plans and projects for Roma inclusion, with a view to promoting Roma integration at local level. The national workshop focused on the annual working plans that will be implemented in each of the partner municipalities of Elbasan, Pogradec, Korca, Fier, Roskovec, Vlora and Permet during 2019.

Participants included engaged experts per each local government, coordinators and local officials of Institutional Working Groups, members of the Community Action Groups, facilitators and representatives from the support organisation. Discussion on the working plan per each local team will anticipate the concrete work for the development and adoption of the local action plans.

ROMACTED Programme is managed by the Council of Europe’s Roma and Travellers Team and supported by the European Union. The programme in Albania is implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
