ROMACTED Workshop on CAG Sustainability in Serbia

The workshop on sustainability of the Community Action Groups (CAG) was organised in an online format, gathering together the CAG members from the 11 cities and municipalities in Serbia. The workshop was moderated by the ROMACTED support team.

The aim of the event was two-fold: the first two sessions were devoted to the presentation of programme`s milestones, as well as the SWOT analysis which was conducted with the CAG per city/municipality prior the event; and the third session was dedicated to the presentation of potential models of CAG sustainability.

The first session was conducted by the facilitator, Ms Danijela Lakatos, who presented the milestones of the programme, step by step progress, as well as the list of small-scale initiatives which are in line with the identified needs and priorities in the communities.

The presentation of the SWOT analyses was led by the facilitator Ms Tanja Djordjevic. The analyses contained information on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which were meticulously collected in every programme city/ municipality by the respective facilitators. The links to presentations per city/ municipality are available below:

The last session was devoted to the potential models of CAG sustainability. This presentation was conducted by the ROMACTED facilitator, Ms Marina Simeunovic. The proposed models were as following:

  1. Continuing the implementation of the ROMACTED methodology after the official closure of the programme. This would imply the co-operation with the local institutions; co-operation with the communities; identifying needs and priorities; drafting of local action plans; and progress monitoring.
  2. Establishing an association or an NGO. The presentation also included a list of necessary procedures for such action.
  3. Participating in the work of the Mobile teams.
  4. Participating in the work of the local councils.

In the final part, Ms Simeunovic presented a systematic analysis on the presence of Roma in the specific local commissions in the framework of the 11 cities and municipalities in Serbia. These local entities include health, gender equality and multi-ethnic relations.
