Portugal organised a national event to present and promote its Child Safeguarding in Sport (CSiS) roadmap

On 10 February 2022, the Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth organised a national event to present and promote its country-specific roadmap for effective child protection in sport policies. The event, which was held in a hybrid format (at the Lisbon Youth Centre and online), brought together all stakeholders involved in the development of the roadmap, as well as key actors from the child protection and sport sectors who will contribute to its effective implementation.

The CSiS joint project of the Council of Europe and the European Union aims at guiding and accompanying countries towards effective policies to safeguard children in sport. The six partner countries of the project; Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Israel, Norway and Portugal are developing national tailor-made roadmaps to ensure that mechanisms for the protection of children in sport are put in place. Each of the countries involved will organise a national event to present their roadmap.
