As part of the project activities in Romania, multiple inclusive education related trainings were organised in all six project schools, based on the needs identified by the schools and their coordinating groups, through the process of developing their Inclusive School Development Plans and with the support of the INSCHOOL team in Romania.

The latest training to date took place on 26 May in Breaza, Romania. The training aimed to provide a deeper understanding of inclusive education and diversity in schools for teachers and educators within the kindergarten under the management of the INSCHOOL Chitila (Ilfov County). The training was provided by Mr Gelu Duminica, as Educational Advisor for INSCHOOL Romania, and Ms Luminita Costache - Education Specialist for UNICEF Romania. The topics included: “Inclusive education: actions for promoting diversity and non-discrimination” and “Working with Roma parents: methods, ideas, proposed actions”.

In Romania, most training of teachers requested by schools through their grant applications were organized in co-operation with the Institute for Educational Sciences (ISE) and carried out by ISE trainers between March and May 2019. The topics of trainings were as follows:

  • Multiculturalism
  • Quality Inclusive Education
  • Diversity and Inclusive Education
  • Working with Children with Special Education Needs
  • Interactive Teaching Methods
  • Intercultural and Inclusive Education
  • Classroom Management

The trainings form an important part of INSCHOOL implementation activities, as they contribute not only to the positive change in teaching methods but also to facilitate exchanges of best practices and team bonding of teachers.
